Hope you’re enjoying the sunshine as much as we are, isn’t it glorious? Let’s hope it stays this way for a few more days at least as we have lots happening in Vouvant this month:
Wednesday 4th – it’s that time again for Cindy to call in at the cafe with her selection of new and used paperbacks. Pop along for a cuppa and slice of cake while you browse your way through her selection of books.
Saturday 7th – Autumn Market
This is a new venture this year. Organised by the Association Graine de Nature the market will be held in the Rue de Lusignan (around the Salle de Fetes) in Vouvant from 10.00am. There will be local artisans and artistes and in the evening from 6.00pm there will be a free concert. Check out the Vouvant Facebook page for further information. https://www.facebook.com/Vouvant-293596779359/
Wednesday 11th – Remembrance Day
We have had an official invitation from the Maire in Vouvant, Jackie Roy, for everyone from the expat community who would like to come along, to attend the Remembrance Ceremony in Vouvant. It will take place at the Monument outside the Maire opposite the church at 10.00am. The cafe will be open for refreshments once the ceremony has finished and we have an official collection box and poppies in the cafe.
Friday 13th 14.00 – 17.00 and
Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th 10.00 – 17.00
“Portes Ouvertes” – Leonie Lynne.com
Leonie and John will be holding a triple open day at the gift shop “Fresco Interiors” here in Vouvant over the weekend of 13, 14 and 15 November. They will have their new winter collection of silver and gemstone jewellery on show alongside all the gifts on sale in Fresco Interiors. For more information call 02 51 00 76 37 or 0642 820469.
Saturday 21st – Cafe Cour Du Miracle Quiz Night
The quiz will be a week earlier this month as the Christmas market will be held on the last weekend of the month (see below). The meal this month will be chicken in white wine with creamy mash and vegetables with a piece of our new apple strudel dessert. And of course there will be some great prizes and lots of fun – tickets are 12.50 each and you can book your places with Paul in the cafe.
Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th – The Vouvant Christmas Market
As usual the Vouvant Christmas market aims to be one of the first in the area and it looks as though this year it will be bigger and better than all years gone by. I will be sending out further information on the stalls and activities that will be happening during the weekend nearer the time but I have attached a note directly from the Maire asking for assistance to set up the market. If anyone can help please contact the Maire direct on their email email@example.com or telephone them on tel:02.51.00.80.21
Don’t forget we have introduced our new winter menu now, and together with all the firm favourites (pies, burgers, omelettes and toasties) we also have chilli, chicken curry and lasagna, with vegetarian chilli and lasagna available on request too. We also have some new cakes and desserts – pop along and have a look as the choice varies from day to day.
OK folks that’s all for now except to remind you of our opening hours for the month of November, we are open from 11.00am to 6.00pm from Wednesday to Sunday – our late night is Friday when we serve food from 7.00pm and close around 10.30pm. We will be closed on Friday 13th to Sunday 15th November as we have a function to attend out of town.
Looking forward to seeing you in the cafe soon
