Later than usual as we have just returned from our holidays, and good they were too!
A quick note on what is happening this month, and into November, in the Cafe Cour du Miracle and Vouvant.
Today, Thursday 15th October from 2.30pm is the date for Cindy with her great stock of secondhand and new paperback books. Come along and have a browse and get yourselves stocked up for those cosy evenings in front of the fire when you need a real good book to read. And whilst you’re browsing, enjoy a cuppa, a beer or wine and perhaps a slice of cake – go on treat yourself!
Friday evening Special Menu is back and in full swing from this Friday the 16th. Each week we have a couple of special dishes for your delectation, usually a fish dish (depending on what is available on the day) and often another special dish like a stew or casserole, again depending on available ingredients. It’s always best to book a table if you would like to come along, just to make sure we have room for you. The two course meal is 15Euros each and the three course is 18Euros each.
Our quiz this month is almost full already, however details are as follows; it will be on Saturday 31st October starting at the later time of 8.00pm to take account of the Rugby final. Our theme is, not surprisingly, Halloween, and we will be giving a prize for the best fancy dress costume. The meal is our special Chilli-con-Carne with rice and tacos. A vegetarian version also available but please let me know how many are required on your table before the night. The price for the two course meal, and quiz with great prizes is 12,50 per person.
We are still preparing our winter menu which will be a little different this year. As well as our staples (the range of pies, omelettes, burgers and toasties) we will also be offering specials such as Paul’s Scrummy Curries, Fiery Chilli-con-Carne, Karen’s Lasagne, Filled to over flowing Jacket Potatoes, Slow Roast Lamb Shanks, Creamy Fish Pie, and other delicacies that we can find to tempt you. Keep an eye on the “specials board” which we will have on
show in the cafe. We will also be trialling new cakes and desserts so plenty to choose from to make your visit to the Cafe and Vouvant special.
And finally, the film at La Chataigneraie next Thursday evening (22nd October) is San Andreas, doors open at 7.30pm and the film starts at 8.00pm.
Well folks that’s all for now, if any more news comes along then we will keep you informed. Looking forward to seeing you in the cafe soon,
Karen and Paul
