Just a short Newsletter this month as I have had a small op on my left hand and find typing with one hand rather difficult… As a result of the op we will be offering a shortened version of the menu for the next couple of weeks while I recover. If all goes well we should be back to normal by the end of November – just in time for the quiz and the start of the Christmas celebrations!
Regarding the Quiz Night, the next one will be on Saturday 30th November and the meal will be a good old heart warming Stew, followed by a dessert. As usual please contact Paul to book your table – four team members to a table – first come – first served basis. We would also request full payment for the table when booking – we have had a number of tables cancel at the last minute which causes us difficulties on the night.
Some really exciting news is that we have a new website! You can now visit us at www.cafecourdumiracle.com and of course we still have a link from the “in the vendee” website too. Speaking of the “in the Vendee” website, did you know they have a great Classified Ads section where you can easily post your “for sale” articles for no charge, and find lots of bargains.
We have a few dates for your diary this month so here goes:
On Saturday 9th November there will be an auction of artwork by local artists in the Nef Theodolin at 3.00pm. Why not come along and pick yourself a piece of work to be admired by all – you could get yourself a real bargain if your bidding powers are good!
The Vouvant Christmas Market is on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November this year. The fun starts on the 23rd at 4.00pm until around 10.00pm and then continues on the Sunday from 10.00am until 7.00pm. There will be lots of stalls filled with ideas for Christmas presents for all the family as well as food and drinks to taste and warm. Come along and enjoy the fun!
A date for your December diary is Wednesday 4th December when Paperback Jan will be here with her range of books and DVDs. Joining Jan in the cafe that day will be Leonie with a variety of Neal’s Yard “stocking filler” items for 6 euros each which will be available on the day for you to take away. You can also place orders for any other Neal’s Yard items you require. Leonie will be here between 2.30 & 8.00 pm. She will also be running a raffle to help a friend’s son, who has cerebral palsy, so they can celebrate Christmas together as a family, in warmth and comfort.
And finally, the Pic Vert will be opening over the winter period from Saturday 9th November – just on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. For the first weekend they will be offering a speciality dish of Couscous Royale, in addition to their normal menu. So if you want another place to visit for a meal then give Patrice and Patricia a try.
OK folks that’s it for now, many thanks for your continued support and we hope to see you in the cafe soon.
