Hope you all enjoying the sunshine – looks like summer is here! We have lots going on this month,
not least our change from Autumn/Winter menu to Spring/Summer. From June 6th we will have a
range of “Light Bites” or “Petites Plats” available, including Chevre Chaud and Egg Mayonnaise,
along with a new Vegetarian Mediterranean tart which has a ricotta cheese, aubergine, pepper
and onion filling topped off with crunchy filo pastry. We will also be bringing back our caramelised
onion and goats cheese tart and Quiche Lorraine, both of which can be served with a mixed salad
or chips and vegetables. Come along and have a break in your day and enjoy a light lunch with

Saturday and Sunday, June 2 & 3
In the village this weekend you can experience nature at it’s best. You can walk in the formal
topiary gardens down by the river and discover an exhibition of paintings entitled “Le jardin et ses
images”. The gardens are situated just off the main road through the village by the roman bridge.
Sunday June 3 from 9.00am to 7.00pm/ 09,00hrs au 19,00hrs
Fishing folks will love to visit the village today – there will be a sale of fishing goods and you can
get information on fishing in the village and on the Vendee. There is also something for the
garden and plant lovers too; you can gather tips for your own sensory and herb gardens and
advice on growing vegetables and herbs for the table. You can visit the herb and sensory garden
which is situated on the lower ramparts adjacent to the river and you can also catch a fish or two in

Wednesday June 6 from 2.00pm to 4.30pm/14,00hrs au 16,30hrs
Jan will be here with her selection of paperbacks for you to browse through so come along and
have a cuppa with us!

We are very happy to present the French band “Zapaloosa” in concert in the Courtyard.
Zapaloosa play covers of music by soul, rock and rhythm and blues bands and artists such as
Santana and Lenny Kravitz. They recently played at the Fil de l’eau and went down a storm!
Come along and enjoy a warm summer’s evening in the courtyard listening to one of the best
French bands around. Entry is free.

Saturday June 23
This is it folks – the final Quiz before we have a break for the summer months. This will be a quiz
with a difference – we intend holding it in the courtyard and having a BBQ! (Are we mad or what!?)
The evening will start as usual from 7.30pm, we will have a couple of rounds of questions followed
by the BBQ meal which will be a buffet selection of salads, coleslaw, crusty bread and barbecued
chicken, sausages and burgers, a dessert and a jug of Pimms for the table. We will then complete
the quiz. The cost per person is 15 Euros and a 5 Euros deposit per person will secure your
booking. Pop in and drop off your deposit with Paul to get your reservation in quickly and avoiddisappointment.
