Hope you are all well and that those of you who are here in France enjoyed your day yesterday – the weather was at least on our side for most of the day!
We have had a really enjoyable October, the sun has shone and we have been able to use the courtyard on most days and some evenings too. We have had some good feedback from you all regarding our winter menu and I am pleased to say that we will be continuing with this unchanged for the foreseeable future.
We had a great evening on the 30th – Paul was very impressed with the rendition of “Happy Birthday” you all gave him – and a big thank you for not giving him the bumps! Troubladour are a fantastic group and we really enjoyed the “Chilli Blues Night” and we can hopefully repeat this again in the future. We are also happy to say that a donation of 40 Euros from the proceeds of the evening was made to the British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Our next evening special is the Quiz night with Beef Bourginon on Saturday the 4th December. Tickets for the evening will go on sale from Wednesday 24th November – ticket price is 10 Euros each including the meal. Ideally teams of four would be a good size. There will be a prize for the winning team and also a donation to the local Vouvant village school will be made from the proceeds of the evening. We are hoping to hold the quiz bilingually although we would like some help on this please – any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
As most of you will now be aware we will be taking a break this month. The cafe will be closed from next Thursday 11th November until we re-open on Wednesday 24th November.
We will also be changing our opening hours during the winter season once we return from holiday. We will be closing on Monday and Tuesday every week BUT we will be opening until late on Friday AND Saturday evenings and offering hot food. We will post this information in the cafe as a reminder for you.
OK folks that’s all for now. We’ll be back with some more news of upcoming events when we return from vacation. In the meantime – we look forward to seeing you in the cafe soon
