May 2010

As you may know we are new to France and to the Cafe and so would very much like to have your
comments and views on what we do and what you would like to see happening in the cafe. We hope that you like the changes we have made and are always open to comment that will help us improve the service we offer to you.

Events for the Summer

On Friday evenings throughout the summer (June, July, August) we will be offering a cheese and
wine evening. Our new wine list has some lovely local and classic wines for you to choose from and we can offer our Vins Maison from 6 Euros for a half litre carafe to a bottle of Chateau la Tonnelle, Bordeaux at 18 Euros – something there for everyone. The cheese platter consists of a choice of five cheeses from a list of 8 – 10 local, national and international cheeses and comes with bread, butter and chutney for a princely sum of 5 Euros. Let’s hope we see you on a Friday evening soon!

On most Wednesday and Sunday afternoons the local Palet players congregate in the Cour and have a fine time trying to beat each other into submission – or paying for the drinks! We love to watch the games and hope to see you there too – perhaps to try your hand at the game and get some special tutoring from Alan!

Events for the Autumn/Winter:

Well, this is where we would like your input please! We are thinking of maybe providing a hot meal on Friday evenings – something traditional like an “English Pub” meal (only home cooked and edible!) – maybe Lancashire Hot Pot, Shepherds Pie, Cottage Pie, or even Lasagne – but we would like your ideas too please.
